The Triangulum | Framed
Behind Andromeda, the Triangulum Galaxy is our next closest galactic neighbor, sitting at a claustrophobic 2.7 million lightyears away (okay, maybe not that close). The Triangulum orientation in relation to us allows us to see the entire structure of the galaxy, which is relatively uncommon from our vantage point (spin angles in galaxies are mostly random, so we have around 1 in 3 chance for a galaxy to have a relative inclination in relation to us to view the entire structure). For example, Andromeda has a fairly steep inclination (77 degrees) so there are portions of the galaxy that are hidden from us behind the galactic core and spiral arms....In summary, the Triangulum is pretty cool!
